After two weeks of once-nightly policosanol consumption, I have absolutely noticed a difference in my muscle mass, particularly in my arms where it is easiest to see. However, I’m not totally sold on the results.
The reason is that my n = 1 test was based purely on “eyeballing it”. I should have:
- used calipers to measure body fat to get a more accurate idea of body fat percentage gained or lost
- ensured that i kept all other diet and exercise related factors as constant as possible — I’m afraid that I may have simultaneously lost some weight from an overabundance of raw foods which would also give me the appearance of more muscle
I’m stopping the test for now and when I seem to be back to “normal”, I’ll run a new test with a different supplement, using the above bullet points.
